Adjudicator Tom Morton returns to Claremorris , having previously adjudicated the 2009 Open Exhibition. Tom is a writer, independent curator, and Contributing Editor of frieze magazine. His exhibitions include: ‘Apparat’ at The Ballroom Marfa, Texas; ‘Panda Sex’ at State of Concept, Athens; ‘British British Polish Polish’ at CSW Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw; and ‘British Art Show 7: In the Days of the Comet’ (Hayward Gallery, London and touring, co-curated with Lisa Le Feuvre).

Artists working in any medium are encouraged to apply, including: painting, print, sculpture, installation, photography, video, light, sound, performance and multimedia.

Works will be sited in a range of public spaces and venues in Claremorris. These sites will include gallery spaces, disused and operational business premises, public and private venues in the town centre. Appropriate locations for general submissions will be identified after the initial selection process.

In addition to traditional gallery spaces, a number of businesses in Claremorris have donated exterior walls, windows and interior spaces for COE, and we are seeking site specific works for these spaces. An information sheet for site specific spaces can be found at the end of this application form. We are accepting applications for original work as well as proposals for the site specific works. Site specific visits can be arranged as requested.
